Need to record streaming audio?

The new version of Total Recorder, V7.1, is a powerful and easy-to-use software designed to record streaming audio as well as any other audio passing through your soundcard.

You can choose to download either the Standard Edition ($17.95) or Professional Edition ($35.95) of Total Recorder, depending on your requirements. To learn more about the features of each edition, please refer to the Feature Comparison Chart.

The evaluation copies of the program are fully functional, with the exception that an audible noise will be inserted about every 60 seconds throughout each of the recordings you make.

Main features.

  • Record sound reproduced by other programs, such as Windows Media Player, iTunes, WinAmp, and many others.
  • Record sound coming through a microphone or played by an external device such as a tape player, LP player, portable music player, etc.
  • Record Internet-telephony conversations when using programs like Skype, Google Talk, etc.
  • Capture (background record) and playback of Internet broadcasts in MP3, WMA, and Ogg Vorbis formats directly without decoding or re-encoding. Now you can easily obtain the exact URL of the stream. *
  • With the Video Add-on you can play, record, and edit video files in AVI and WMV formats. *
  • Play an audio file or a video file at a slower or faster speed than normal while optionally preserving the original tone. *
  • Convert sound data on the fly during a recording and convert files from one format to another.
  • Total Recorder performs editing operations (e.g. normalize, split, cut, or join audio files) without any loss of sound quality even when editing compressed sound.
  • Unique time shift feature lets you listen to an audio file from any position during the recording or capturing of an Internet broadcast. *
  • Schedule playbacks or recordings using Total Recorder's powerful built-in scheduler.
  • Now Total Recorder provides the functionality of creating CUE-points, which can be used for splitting a file afterwards. *
  • Free and trial Add-ons can be used for sound enhancements, mixing operations, integration with iTunes/iPod, and for other purposes.
